About the Artist
My name is Nathaira-Moon Wylde. I am a mostly self taught creatrix, intuitive artist and metalsmith. I am a talismanic artisan of lost and found of bone and metal, stone and rust. I love to live as a work of art and indeed learning and mastering the art of being truly authentic; an ever-evolving expression of my truest self.
I create empowering, protective & spiritually charged amulets and talisman and am currently returning to, fostering and nurturing a divinely led practice of ethereal abstract painting. It is my intention that the 2D form flows, weaves and intertwines with the adornments.
My work is deeply influenced, inspired by and connected to the Sea, great Mother Ocean, my ancestry both Scandinavian and Scottish & the folklore of these places. Archaeological dig finds, the other worlds, Fae folk and what lies beyond the veil. The deep longing for connections to places, communities and peoples, even those we have not visited; are culturally born into or identify with but feel an unwavering part of, are some of the deeper themes of my work. The longing to return “Home” to tribe to clan and also the feeling of being an outsider, a fringe dweller, “feral” and not wholly connecting to or feeling totally grounded to a place, time or culture that you were born into or find yourself in. In a sense my work is a culmination of these deeper longings and desires to be accepted for who we are, wherever we are. My work reflects a vision of Created Tribe.
I have always felt an abysmal, often longing connection to the Sea and the liminal realms. I feel, that in their creation, my work is born from these celestial and sacred places, handed through dimensions or passed down through memory of ancestors. Odes to seafarers and ancient mariners and those imagined and fantastical.
The Ocean herself, her power, her depth her softness. My own experiences with this element from birth and a life long remembering from the deep womb space and unyielding connection to this “great equalizer".
The Tide Crone, the Sea Priestess, in all her forms are ever present in my work. She represents for me a bridge between worlds and of a higher and deeper knowledge. I like to think of my work space as an altar to these women and to all divine & wild feminine; for the Ocean, the Earth and for the Moon. And through me these creative feminine energies are brought into the physical.
"Never loose touch with your inner child, this is what keeps us firmly grounded to the utterly breathtaking world in which we dwell; and our eyes open to worlds we can for now, only dream about."
ALL are welcome here. Thank you for joining me in this space. - Blessings Nathaira-Moon. XXX
